Tony Hart welcomes you to 'The GLC Gallery - Part II'

"Say kids, what time is it? Yes, it's 'Time for Tony'. I'm back once again and as such I'd just like to thank you for finding the time to stop by. Respect to you, the clarts, spas and Bus Station Massive that make this, the 'GLC Gallery' happen. Now without further ado, let's get this shit on the road....."

"Check out these impressive pieces - at one stage I thought artist Mr. D Eyre had stormed the set of 'Tonight with Trevor McDonald' and nicked all their studio graphics. It just goes to show the extent that Newport underground culture has infiltrated the very fabric of South Wales society (as well as the very real threat of invading all surrounding areas, 'in the Name of the Chain')"

"Beautiful - another Eyre classic. Behold the chains, observe the undisguised lust but more importantly, concentrate on the meandering comments that these two characters exchange. Like them, I often find that laughing and joking after dirtying myself is quite cathartic"

"Here Mr. Eyre paints us a lovely historic picture, so very close to our hearts. Imagine if you will, the 'clarts' of days gone by....no hip-hop, no chips and very few Newport Nippers. How could one survive...? With musket, powder and a whole lot of draw. That's the only way that you could attain 'DVS' status, back in the day"

"An inspiring piece in the style of 'Open University' diagrams, Mr. Eyre once again explores the complex relationship between Welsh landscape and 'gang turf'. He correctly identifies the fact that South Wales will soon be known as 'Goldie Lookin Chain' as soon as a select elite of our footsoldiers get jobs in Newport County Council or at least one of them contacts Jim'll Fix It."

"Ah, the previously undiscovered delights of the man, Johny Mase. He must have been doing the Newport rounds the same day as Mr. Eyre, but caught these two just as the conversation ended. Not one to relish the bitter taste of failure, Mase produced the portrait anyway adding the above comments not so much as an afterthought, more as a way of bringing all the themes together. Simple and yet highly effective"

"Streetlife! It's the only shit I know! Streetlife! Don't get tense, just let it flow! Don't think that just because I'm well-spoken doesn't mean I haven't served my time on the Streets, kids. I know the damn score. That's why pieces like this just grab my mind, kicking and screaming back into the Newport ghetto. From one DJ Dog-Sled, it seems to shout everything 'Portside', with yet another little reference that brings this edition of the Gallery full-circle. DJ Dog-Sled, we expect great things of you and await more inspired works"

Tony's Additional: Shit man, this just in - the above piece was scribed and created by none other than 'Twoe', one of the hottest graf' talents around. Respeck to both you and the man DJ Dog-Sled for bringing this to my feverish attention. You can check out their shit here: http://aerosolicsanonymous.tripod.com
