Goldie Lookin' Chain
Goldie Lookin' Chain
The GLC aka Goldie Lookin' Chain are a collective rap crew from Newport whose main subjects are drugs, tracksuits and Newport's Dragon taxi fleet.

The NME have described them as a "stand-up comedy set to music with the acumen of modern hip-hop" whereas the Observer comments "behind the slapstick is some insidiously catchy electro-pop and some pretty accomplished rapping". They say that they are just telling it like it is in the 'Port and spreading their message to the masses in their own unique way.

With a love of absurd rhyme, swearing, shell-suits, bigging up the 'Port and spreading glorious rumours (they recently convinced Heat magazine that they were releasing a single with Charlotte Church) the GLC take no prisoners.

They brag to have the tallest man in hip-hop - Maggot - and hope to launch their own range of B-fur leisure wear - starting price for a pair of B-fur slippers only £10,000. The reason for the extortionate price is because they have to individually peel each bee by hand.

They are set to release their debut album through EastWest Records in August, preceded by a single in July. But before that you can see them gigging around Britain and have secured a cherished place on the line up at both Reading and Glastonbury.
