Randy says: Check it out yo. Latest feedback from music types and Eggs spreads the word about money-sensible fashion-sense in the form of Trago Mills, den building exercises and the mysterious character 'King Whitey' who specialises in projectile vomiting into plastic carrier bags. Safety first!
'Under the Counter': Get it while you can! - 17/03/08
Randy says: Here's the lowdown from Eggs and Xain on the latest official offering from the Chain Crew. 'Over the top'...? No. 'Under the Counter'. Knows it makes sense.
Rob Brydon's Identity Crisis, BBC4 - 29/02/08
Randy says: Eggs, Xain and Maggot make an appearance on Rob Brydon's Identity Crisis on that most high-brow of TV channels, BBC4 on Friday 29th February 2008. Check it out!
Global warming: not so hot - 02/02/08
Randy says: What with Global Warming doing everyone's heads in and that, it's nice to see some members of the Chain Crew offering support and doing their bit for Mother Earth. As longstanding supporters of all things 'green', how could they not...? Ask Adam to elaborate on the term 'fragile ecosystem' though and he may explain at length about how his guts are killing him due to a cheap Chinese and loads of crap lager from the night before......
Chain Crew responsible for ending encrypted music on the net - 29/12/07
Randy says: Super hackers Goldie Lookin Chain, a highly disciplined but anti-authoritarian technocratic underground resistance movement based in Newport have been hailed as the saviours of online music by constructing a virus that renders all mp3 encryption wholly ineffective. Essentially this means that all music by all people for all time shall be made available to all online completely free of charge. It also means the end of record companies dictating the march of new musics to all and sundry and surely not before time.
‘THIS Christmas’ FREE Charity Download single Released Wednesday December 19th 2007
Urgent communique from GLC Central...."Yes, you’ve read that right, Goldie Lookin Chain are giving this year’s Christmas Number One a run for its money by releasing a FREE Noel special.
The track THIS Christmas will be available for download for absolutely zilch, exclusively through The Sun’s new music website Music Biz www.the-sun.co.uk/music for 5 days only, from Wednesday Dec 19th. You won’t even have to leave your name or email address. Just click on the link and download. It’s as easy as stealing, just ask the Maggot. And on December 25th, the song will be available to download from youknowsit.co.uk
As Eggsy says, "why not do yourself a favour and realise that wasting cash on plastic helicopters and socks for relatives who you hate really, is a bit pointless, so do something positive with your money – and remember a GLC free download is for life, not just for Christmas".
If the Radiohead album experiment has taught us anything this year, it is that the following is unlikely to work, but the only thing Goldie Lookin Chain ask of you is this: While you are waiting for THIS Christmas to download, why not take a minute to donate any funds you may have spare to one (or both) of the following charities....
Of course, if you have an aversion to homeless people or children, why not pick a charity of your choice, and donate to them instead?
Goldie Lookin Chain wish you all a Merry Christmas, pop round to their website at youknowsit.co.uk and tune in to their weekly podcasts until the release of their new album ‘asbo 4 life’ next year. Or tune in to XFM Southwales to listen to Rhys and Eggsy presenting the drivetime show from 4pm until 7pm on weekdays"
More style tips from Rhys and Eggs - 12/07
Randy says: It's a well known fact that Christmas is the time for multicoloured hats, thick wooly socks of many festive shades and chunky knit jumpers with pictures of reindeers on. Well then, there's every reason to make the effort. Go one step further with Rhys and Eggs as they take you on a mini-journey of fashion-based madness. Like Statler & Waldorf before them, there's every reason to hang out on the theatre balcony just chillin and wearing bright colours.
Eggs & Xain take over Wales Today - 14/11/07
Randy says: Check your head! Them boys done good sneaking into the BBC right under their very noses. News broadcasting will never be the same. This is where the revolution starts friends (and it will very much be televised)....
Eggs & Xain on Xfm South Wales - !!!COMING SOON!!! - 29/10/07
Courtesy of Nienke and Bibs
Randy says: Yes kids, check it out yo. Xfm South Wales have recently been granted their license to start kicking out the jams in the valleys. As such, it's only fair to get P Xain and the Eggman involved for a spot of drivetime-slot tomfoolery. Despite this high-profile venture, the boyos say that they're very excited at the prospect of playing records on the radio to people driving across the country at high speed but there'll still always be a place in their hearts for the glory days that were associated with Hyper Value FM. For more info, click right here.
Rhys & Eggs give Bedders the rundown round town - 26/10/07

Randy says: Adam Hussain, Defender of the Faith and All-Round Welsh Hero. Here, feast your eyes upon the carnage that is Adam and his trusty alcoholic sidekick Graham the Bear in their guise as the Tenants Supermen. Truly, they have come to save every one of us. A bit like Flash Gordon but a bit camper.

Courtesy of Nienke
Randy says: We've just had this extraordinary photographic evidence of the Chain Crew entertaining the masses down in Cardiff's Glo Bar. Were you there...? If so, you'd have jammed down to Billy Webb's exotic audio delights, put your hands in the air for Xain's rave mix, felt a distinct 80's feel with Eggy's electronica and (if you stayed late enough) felt confused, bewildered but then ready to go crazy when Mysty put on his drum and bass version of the theme tune from 'Ski Sunday'. Come down and catch those crazy Chain Boys when they swing round the Glo Bar again on 20th October...! Rave it up...!
'An Evening with Adam Hussain' - 04/09/07

Carlos Tevez joins the GLC....well, kind of - 19/08/07
Courtesy of the Daily Star
Randy says: Yes, you heard it here first. Carlos Tevez is joining the rest of the original erotic man dancers onstage for a delightful sexual performance. No, not really. Have a look at the article anyway - it would appear that a certain band member has been photoshopped for the use of this particular piece. A clue for you...? His name begins with 'Rosco' and ends in 'P Coltrane'. Check it out y'all.
The National Action Sports Show, Bath & West Showground, Somerset - 02/06/07
Courtesy of Xain and Bibs of the GLC Forum
Randy says: It's Extreme Sports time once again boys and girls! Shine up your helmet, pull on your kneepads and show off your dazzling skills on the vert ramp! Either that or get bollocksed on cider, skate down a slight incline shouting "RADICAL DUDE" and then get sick on the waltzers like we did. Big ups to all who came down to cheer us on as always. Lovely stuff.
Dai Hard-On, 'Die Hard 4.0' Premiere, Cardiff - 02/06/07
Courtesy of Xain
Randy says: When Red Dragon Radio invited the boys down for the next thrilling installment of the Die Hard franchise, they simply didn't know what to expect. When Adam Hussain and Graham the Bear donned white vests in a bid to emulate their on-screen hero John McClane, it was truly a treat for everyone. Witness the Chain's stunned reactions to Die Hard 4.0 below. Yippee kayay muvvafukka!
'Breakin the Bay' at the Millenium Centre, Cardiff - 16/06/07
Courtesy of Xain and 'Breakin the Bay'
Randy says: When a professional breakdancing troupe like Zoonation need a crew in the South Wales vicinity to offer out on the lino, they don't need to look too far. Intensively trained in the modern day arts of drinking, smoking, swearing and fighting, the Goldie Lookin Chain Professional Dance Troupe are at your beck and call for all your lino-based dance off needs. Sadly, the boys seemed to come second place to Zoonation on this occasion but that doesn't do their valiant breakdancing skills justice. Let's allow the visuals to them justice instead. Watch in silent awe my friends.....
Chain Crew stuck in a field somewhere in Suffolk - 15/06/07
Courtesy of Xain
Randy says: Friday found our boys wandering round in a field aimlessly waiting for something to happen. Word on the street is that they've now found their home on a travelling fair that takes them to almost identical fields up and down the country so they can wander anew. Mysty said he felt like John Cleese in 'Clockwise', Billy's become a crack shot on the coconut shy and Adam enjoyed counting bees. Nice work if you can get it.

Football Crazy - Soccer Sixes '07 - 20/05/07
Courtesy of Bibs and the GLC Forum
Randy says: It's that time of year once again where agile athletes undergo punishing training regimes to compete in the ever-prestigious Soccer Six charity tournament. Either that or a load of wreckheads turn up in a scumbus with less than 10 minutes to spare for their first game, get their shit together and then go on all the way through to the semi-finals....yes friends, yes indeed. This is the furthest the Chain Crew have ever come. What a glorious achievement. Well done everyone.
'Mr. Fahrenheit' - The GLC Video Shoot - 10/05/07
Courtesy of Bibs and the GLC Forum
Randy says: The 10th of May saw us gathering at Clwb Ifor Bach (aka 'The Welsh Club') in Cardiff to shoot the next exciting pop video for the Chain sensation. Enigmatically entitled 'Mr. Fahrenheit', the whole project itself was shrouded in mystery and kept tightly under wraps. Huge respeck to the crowds who came down to support us during filming - may your celluloid selves never diminish and retain the same inner glow that made you the happiest and most energetic people alive on that fateful day. Rave it up one time, yo.

GLC new album news in the Daily Star - 14/04/07
Randy says: Whoop whoop! As we edge ever nearer to the time where the new album's hitting the shelves, rumours have already started flying over content, artwork, themes, structure and style, mostly started by the band's members themselves. Who knows what mind-twisting neo-classical party bangers this album will present to society...? It'll be like that bit in 'Clash of the Titans' when they unleash the Kraken....
Burberry Workers' Benefit Gig - Ystrad Rhondda Leisure Centre - 24/03/07
Courtesy of Nienke
Randy says: Those Chain boys were invited up to a leisure centre to do a benefit gig for all the workers losing their jobs when the factory closes. They had a lovely time and did a nice little show. They also managed another lovely rendition of 'Golddigger' with The Automatic. Other artists up for the day included Gruff Rhys from the Super Furry Animals, the Alarm and Stuart Cable's new band 'Killing For Company'. Havin a larf in the barf.

Courtesy of Show-Snapper Extraodinnaire Kerry P
Randy says: This was the big show that everyone was looking forward to: A nice intimate venue, new tunes, many hands in the air and more razz tracksuits than a Matalan clear-out sale. Big thanks to the Forum Crew, the Leisurewear Massif and the Newsround Production team for popping down and raving it the fuck up. Knows you're safe.

Courtesy of Master Everton Smith
Randy says: HAAAAAAIIII! Greetings, High-Kicking Karate Fans! Saturday afternoon saw Eggs, Hattsy and Mysty taking part in a Charity Kickathon down at Master Everton Smith's Black Belt School. With aching arms but happy hearts, they also found the time to pose with Master Everton Smith and Welsh International Nathan Blake. Whip-chop-chow!

This time round they're off to Ireland for some lovely shows at the Music Factory in Carlow and Dolan's Warehouse in Limerick. Come down and have a lovely bit of fun and games...!
Randy says: It's the biggest music festival Newport's ever seen - the Crow Point festival celebrating all things Port and the centenary of the Transporter Bridge. Line up included Mr. Scruff, Roni Size and 'The Mighty GLC' - don't know who they were but apparently they were pretty good. Big ups to everyone who came down. Shame that they used up all the fireworks on the Saturday night but then again, you can't have an impressive display like that every day.
Chain Crew tear up Ibiza island - 28/08/06 - 02/09/06
Courtesy of Phrank, Jill Manumission, Joe Mott and Big G's photography skills
Randy says: Big, big fun in the hot, hot sun! It would appear that reports in the popular press indicated certain members of the band had concerns about coming back alive, mentally stable and complete with limbs attached. I can happily report that all went according to plan and the Manumission Villa was a lovely place to be. The shots below were from the show at Bar M, San Antonio. I can only assume that the blurry nature of the photographic evidence is down to the thumping bass and ground-shaking nature of the Chain Crew raving it up abroad. Safety son!

Courtesy of Alysia aka Bunnywunny
Randy says: That's right guv'nor! Check out these exclusive shots of the GLC going crazy bollocks on stage in the NME Radio One tent at the Reading Festival. It would appear that the Hi-Viz construction worker look is truly 'in' this season. Luverly stuff.
Eggsy and Xain at V Festival, Chelmsford - 19-20/08/06
Courtesy of Eggsy's camera and Nienke's photography skills
Randy says: Who better than Eggs and Xain to interview some of V Festival's hottest talent...? Along with a camera crew all of their very own, one-quarter of the Chain managed to hook up with: The Magic Numbers, Matt Willis of Busted, Grace and Mikey From Big Brother, James Dean Bradfield, Jody Latham from Shameless, June Sarpong and many others. Girls Aloud and the Sugababes decided to decline their invitation for an interview so Eggs just tried to get dirty shots of their jubblies instead. They also ran into Serge and Chris from Kasabian, Kaori from the Go! Team and Aaron from the Delays. Peaches Geldof was on hand to tell Xain she used to fancy him too. Good on ya girl.

Courtesy of Robin Kitchin
Randy says: Here are some exciting action snaps of our boys enjoying a spot of surfing in Newquay with top British surfer Alan Stokes at the Animal Surf Academy. After a brief tutorial, they hit set after set and were spinning round, hanging 180's and even managed to make a surfboard raft with help from some of the more experienced boys. Well, they all managed to stand up anyway and vowed to rent some boards next time they're off down the Gower. Fuckin razz.

8 Men & A Robot: Chain Crew tear up K Fest, Newquay - 28/07/06
Courtesy of Nienke, Karen and Stewart Plant
Randy says: There's not much more to stir the soul than a beach, a glorious sunset and a load of wreckheads in a field being entertained by a load of wreckheads on stage accompanied by a robot. Employing state-of-the-art BBC Micro technology with a Basic coding matrix, said robot performed a number of complicated twists and turns to the strains of 'Half Man, Half Machine'. Fair brought a tear to my eye I tell ya, as well as raising a number of questions about what it is to be human. A bit like 'Blade Runner' but without as many flying cars.
Game Set & Vag, Chain on Centre Court, Wimbledon - 27/06/06
Courtesy of Nienke
Randy says: Here's a match report from the boys themselves....make of it what you will:
"We had a fantastic day out, great comeback from Tim. We saw Keith Chegwin
and he said he was rooting for Henman as well. We sat next to Peaches Geldof
and had strawberries and cream with her. Our favorite part of the day
though, was when we got to have a go in the Play Tennis section and test our
tennis skills against computers and had a game of cupping which was great
fun. We hope to watch Tim at the finals against Andy Murray. Shame we
didn't get to see Maria Sharapova....."
The Chain play at Wembley - 23/06/06
Courtesy of the Daily Star
Randy says: Them crazy Chain boys been at it again. Here it would appear the national press have discovered their bid to become the first band to play the new Wembley Stadium. Did they dig a tunnel to get in along the lines of 'Escape to Victory'? Did they dress up as ninjas, scale the walls with grappling hooks and knock out security blokes? No. Apparently they walked straight in, obvious as you like and pumped up the jams. Good on em I say.
Shelter Charity at 'Escape In the Park' - 17/06/06
Courtesy of Shelter and Phil Rees
Randy says: The sun is shining, the girls are dancing and everything's right with the world. Lo and behold, the fury of Singleton Park's 'Escape in the Park' in Swansea. Wreck-up fever, ahoy! Aside from these hedonistic pleasures though, one of the Chain's sponsored charities, 'Shelter Cymru' came down to say hello and try to make them think about important issues such as not having a place to live. Why not have a look at their website and see all the important work that they do....?
Bobs and bits in 'TV Hits'
Courtesy of Nienke and TV Hits
Randy says: More fun and games with the Chain in the 21st Century's answer to 'Look-In', it's 'TV Hits'. They've got a lovely snippet of Maggot here with his newfound puppy friends. And who's this...? It seems the general public are finally sitting up and taking notice of Mysty's unique confused fashion sense. About time too son. Keep living the dream.

Here he is signing his mattress that he slept on in the Celebrity Big Brother house so it can be auctioned off for PDSA, a charity that helps out people what can't afford to get their pets fixed up like. They rely solely on voluntary donations and need to raise close to £3 million squids this year alone. Fair blows the trousers off. To get the lowdown on the PDSA, have a look at their website or call them on (0800) 7312502.

Randy says: As if we didn't have enough fun at the Soccer Sixes, along comes our official Soccer Sixes glc mascot Josh sending a thank-you card for allowing him to tag along and bother all the lovely ladies that day. He's the little one with the headband in the photo below. We taught him all sorts of tricks that day and he taught us a few in return. A meeting of like minds, if you will. Good on you son.
Newport's New Bridge and What To Call It
Courtesy of Tim Harries and the South Wales Argus
Randy says: All them bigwigs at City Hall ave got themselves into a right old state over this new bridge thing. It looks proper Buck Rogers an that but no one knows what to call it. That's where the South Wales Argus came in and asked local people to send in their suggestions. They've had all sorts I reckon. Check out the science here.

Maggot put in an appearance at the very first 'Red Bull Track Attack' and met Jade Goody's uvver half and nonw other than the delectable Debbie King of ITV's Quizmania, gawd bless 'er. Wasn't all fun an games though, our heartfelt sentiments go out to Myleene Klass who stacked it on a corner and had to be stetchered off to hospital. Keep yer chin up luv, innit.
